Bollywood Actor Arjun Rampal
Arjun Rampal was born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India on 26th November 1972. His father’s name is Amarjeet Rampal and his mother’s name is Gwen Rampal. He belongs to a rich Punjabi Brahmin family who stayed in New Delhi. Arjun along with his sister attended the prestigious Kodaikanal International School situated at Palani Hills in Tamil Nadu. His mother was a teacher in the school at the same time. Arjun went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Economics stream from the highly regarded Hindu College in Delhi. Once at a high end party being conducted at a discotheque in Delhi Arjun caught the eye of one of India’s most well known fashion designers Rohit Bal. Thereafter Rohit Bal took Arjun in his aide & promoted him extensively and kept pushing Arjun in his endeavors till Arjun did not become of one the country’s most wanted, most recognized and most successful male model. From there director-producer Rajiv Rai started promoting Arjun Rampal. Rajiv first made Arjun a part of his music video ‘Don’t Marry’ with model Namrata Baruwah doing the female honors for the music video. Then Rajiv again cast Arjun but this time in his film. The movie was titled ‘Pyaar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat ’. In ‘Pyaar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat ’ he was cast along side Sunil Shetty and Aftab Shivdasani. But before this movie he had already sign to act in the movie ‘Moksha’ and was directed by Ashok Metha. So technically Arjun’s first movie was ‘Moksha’ but his first movie that hit the screens is ‘Pyaar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat’. But it wouldn’t matter too much to Arjun as both the movies flopped at the box office and the only solace Arjun can gain from these two movies are that he was noticed and he was getting more offers to star in Bollywood movies. Arjun then started taking things one by one, he was in no hurry to rush things and prove that he was a good selling artist. What mattered to him was doing good roles wherein his fans appreciate him and he enjoys his work at the same time. In 2002 his movie ‘Aankhen’ hit the movie screens and it was a really good movie. The stars cast in the movie too were excellent, fore most of them being Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, Former Miss World and Bollywood beauty Susmita Sen, Paresh Rawal among others. Amitabh plays the role of a bank manager who is a strict disciplinarian and one day on a small mistake of a bank employee he trashes the employee and is asked to leave the bank and resign from his post. This leaves Amithabh very unhappy and he wanted revenge as he had served the bank very loyally. He captures 3 blind men in Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar. And they are taught bank robbery by Susmita Sen. The plot and the way detailed robbery planning is shown the movie makes it a must watch movie. Arjun did a fantastic job in portraying the role of a blind person. He also starred in some notable Bollywood movies like Dil Tumhaara Hai in 2002, then Yakeen in 2005 and Ek Ajnabee that was released in 2005. Then in 2006 he acted in the movie ‘Don: The Chase Begins Again’ directed by Farhan Akhtar and the movie starred Priyanka Chopra and Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. The film also stars Boman Irani, Isha Koppikar and Kareena Kapoor in a guest appearance. 80% of the movie was shot in Malaysia, and was filmed around the tropical Langkawi island as well as the towering Petronas Twin Towers and the Jalan Masjid India area, which is the 'little India' of Kuala Lumpur. The movie was a super hit and it gave Arjun his first super success of his career. Then he starred in the movie ‘Om Shanti Om’ where again his co-star happened to be superstar Shahrukh Khan with choreographer Farah Khan. In this movie the played the role of a villain to perfection and his style was immaculate. It seems that now this handsome hunk has found his feet in Bollywood and he also knows his way around. Surely in the coming years we will see this young actor more often enacting great role with the simplest of ease and increasing his female fans to innumerable.
