Bollywood movie Biwi No.1 Biwi No.1 happens to be another of the great comedy genre movies that have been directed by the Bollywood comedy filmmaker David Dhawan during the 1990’s. The movie was released on 28th May 1999. David Dhawan directed the movie while its producer is Vashu Bhagnani. The movie’s cast is a stellar line of Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Tabu, and Anil Kapoor & Sushmita Sen. Amitabh bachchan and Saif Ali Khan were guest appearance. During the 1990’s David Dhawan has given Bollywood a slue of comedy hits and this was no different while after the twin success of Jeet and Judwaa, Salman Khan & Karisma Kapoor were teaming up once again and this time too they delivered a box office success. The movie starts of by depicting Prem Mehra played by Salman Khan & Pooja Mehra played by (Karisma Kapoor) already married and living happily together and has two lovely little kids who attend school while Pooja is happy with her married life and think that her husband is an ideal husband who would not cheat on her. The other central character in the movie is Rupali played by Sushmita Sen, who happens to be glamour model whose has attractive features like a long legs, attractive personality and drop dead looks and to top that is intent on her successful career. She is not willing to settle for anything mediocre in life and wants the best and nothing but the best. Even her boyfriend or her would be husband should be a multi-millionaire. Prem is the owner of an Advertising Agency and signs Rupali as a model. Upon meet her he feels attracted to her and thinks that if he spent some time fooling around with her and sharing some good wine with her he is certainly not cheating on his family or even Pooja. Prem comes over to Pooja and tells her that there is some business related work for which he will have to fly to Switzerland. He plans a trip to Switzerland with her and is able to convince his family that he would go alone on the trip. He takes Rupali along with him. While at the airport Prem chances to meet his close friend Lakhan (Anil Kapoor) and his good-hearted wife Lovely (Tabu) with their son. To his horror, he learns that they too are going to Switzerland and Lakhan along with Lovely and their son are also traveling for a vacation to Switzerland. It is in Switzerland that they understand that there is an extra marital affair between Prem & Rupali. Lovely tells Rupali of Prem being a married person but Rupali is blinded by her lust for money and thinks that’s a matter that Prem shall have to take care of. On their return from Switzerland Lovely goes to meet Pooja tells her all about Prem & Rupali. This leaves Pooja furious and she tells Prem to choose her the two women in his life, to her astonishment Prem leaves their house and starts living with Rupali. Prem even buys her a new home, a car and everything to keep her happy. Pooja is left devastated and then Lakhan come to save his friend’s wife and tells her that he will get Prem back to her. Lakhan and Lovely along with help from her mother-in-law and the kids plus Pooja they all sit and chalk up a plan to teach Prem a lesson to get Prem to admit to his mistake. Pooja sends her mother-in-law and the kids as well to live with Prem. Prem lets them live with, thereafter they trouble Rupali no end, they make false comments on her and prove to Prem that she keeping them hungry and use all foul means to show Prem that she no goddess from whom he is leaving a lovely family. It all ends well and Prem comes back home sing to the tunes of his ‘Biwi No.1.
