Bollywood Movie Bunty Aur Babli Bunty Aur Babli is a Bollywood movie released in the year 2005. It has been directed by Shaad Ali and has been produced by Bollywood’s most illustrious production house Yash Raj Films with Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra at the helm. This movie happened to be the first movie that brought together father Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan to actor in a movie and also starred leading Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji. The music of Bunty Aur Babli was written by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics were provided by Gulzar. The music was super hit as was the movie, it was among the biggest hits of the year 2005 at the box office. The item number ‘Kajra Re’ featuring Aishwarya Rai topped all charts. The movie was nominated for 7 Filmfare Awards and won 3. The plot of the movie is the story about two young small town aspirants who want to make it big in life. Vimmi Saluja (Rani Mukerji) and Rakesh Trivedi (Abhishek Bachchan). The actually grow sick of what life has to present to them and want to chart their own destiny become rich. To achieve success they put their aspirations in threaded bags, but the confidence is high and they are sure that success is not far away. Born “Rakesh” in a lazy, laid back Fursatganj, he has many ideas & schemes; he can invent fresh idea to be sold to other aspiration youths. He realizes that while staying in Fursatganj there is no chance of ideas changing into realities and nor will be become a big man. He has a dream of becoming amongst the richest in the world. Big Jacuzzis and bigger limousines are a part of his dreams. He wants his name to be the stuff of newspaper headlines. All in all he wants to changes his life for the better. In a similar sleepy, crinkle nosed & slump-backed small municipality named Pankinagar, “Vimmi” (Rani Mukerji), is in her own dilemma. What does she do, get married like the rest of the girls? Or does she follow her heart? In her thoughts she happens to be the sultriest female on the ramp. She is the stuff that people crave for but cannot even get near her. She thinks herself to be a Miss India. She too leaves home to pursue her dreams. As it happens that these two chance upon on meeting each other and upon having a one on one open hearted discussion they think that they two will have to do it together. Thus starts the journey of ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ where in by their complete wit they start selling Bunty’s intelligence & Babli’s brown-eyed beauty to rake in the money! Together they are spiritual gurus, bureaucrat and secretary, gangster and moll, business partners, hen pecked husband and pregnant wife, lawyer and sexually harassed client, vagabonds, caught-in-a-downpour lovers and lots, lots more. And they seem to love every minute of it. But as this mayhem of looting the rich people of their cash continues there is a cop named ACP Dashrath Singh (Amitabh Bachchan) whose is following each of their moves and is very close to getting hold of the two. After having a close call with ACP Dashrath Singh the two decide that they have amassed a fortune and it time they stop all these activities and settle down considering that Vimmi is pregnant as well. But ACP Dashrath Singh traces them to their small village that they are residing in and takes Rakesh & Vimmi into custody, in custody they both tell their entire story and promise they will never take this path again. They somehow manage to convince Dashrath Singh who lets them out. Years later, Dashrath rescues them from their mundane and domestic lives to work for the nation thwarting the activities of other scammers
