Bollywood Movie Coolie No.1 Coolie No. 1 is a Bollywood movie released on 30th June in the year 1995. Who other than the king of comedy, director David Dhawan could possibly be the director of a movie with such a title. And when there is a David Dhawan comedy movie then the actor has to be his favorite comic actor and Bollywood star Govinda. The movie is completely of comedy genre starring Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Hairsh, Kanchan, Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Sadashiv Amrapurkar along side others. With a host of comic actors the movie and to be a hilarious one and it is exactly that and also scored a knock out punch at the box office by delivering a hit. The movie is set in a small time village in a remote area of India. In the village there happens to be a match maker called Pandit Shaadiram Gharjore played by actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar. Pandit Shaadiram Gharjore one day takes a respectful family to the house of Choudhry Hoshiarchand Shikarpuri Bakulwala played by actor Kader Khan who wants to get his young and very beautiful daughter Malti played by actress Karisma Kapoor married to some who is ten times more famous, ten times more wealthier and ten times more respected than he is. When Choudhry Hoshiarchand gets to know that this family does not meet his criteria, he bluntly insults them and asks them to leave his premises immediately. Pandit Shaadiram Gharjore feels highly insulted by Choudhry Hoshiarchand’s ill mannered behavior and tells him that he shall get his insult back. Pandit Shaadiram Gharjore then leaves and forgets the matter for sometime but then when he travels to a never by city and happens to bump into a coolie who does less work but talks as if he happens to be king of some place. The coolie’s name is Raju played by actor Govinda and he talks like he has high tech knowledge of the whole world. It immediately strikes Pandit Shaadiram that Raju is the perfect man to get Choudhry Hoshiarchand feet back to the ground and teach him a lesson. This is where the fun part of this movie begins. Raju works at the city bus stand along with his coolie friend Deepak played by actor Hairsh. Pandit Shaadiram shows Raju the photo of Malti and asks him that would be like to marry such a beautiful girl to which Raju cannot believe his eyes and say he will do anything to marry this girl. Pandit Shaadiram tells Raju that he will have to follow his instruction and he will have Malti as his wife. Soon they arrange for some money and hire a sleek Mercedes-Benz and drive to the village of Choudhry Hoshiarchand on the out skirts of the village them happen to see Malti and her friend of her Shalini played by actress Kanchan on a bicycle. Raju cannot believe that she is so beautiful while his friend Deepak falls for Kanchan. They then leave immediately for the proposed but entirely fake factory site. As soon as the news of the arrival of the son of the wealthiest man in Asia reaches Choudhry Hoshiarchand he rushes to the factory site to meet him. There Pandit Shaadiram is standing but due to change of attire Pandit Shaadiram is not recognized by Choudhry Hoshiarchand. Choudhry Hoshiarchand begs Raju to get married to his daughter and Raju and Malti meet each other and fall in love and soon get married. Raju takes Malti to his house in the city and tells her that his parents are completely unhappy with his decision to marry a village girl therefore until the fight between his non-existent parents subsides they will have to adjust in a small house. But soon Choudhry Hoshiarchand gets to know all the truth about Raju and Pandit Shaadiram planning. He does everything he can to separate the two but in the end has to give accepts a coolie as his son-in-law.
