Bollywood Actor Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone was born on 5th of January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her mother’s name is Ujjala Padukone while her father is the legendary Indian badminton champion Prakash Padukone; Prakash is a former world & All England Badminton Open champion. Deepika was merely eleven months old when she along with her parents returned back to India. She completed her primary schooling for the Sophia High School in Bangalore and thereafter did her Indian School Certificate higher secondary schooling from Mount Carmel College. She also started out playing badminton during her schooling days and reached the state level competition but thereafter she had more inclination towards academics and hence discontinued playing badminton which she practiced at her father’s academy. Deepika is a very pretty gal and no doubt about that, the same thing stroked her and she entered the world of modeling and fashion. She started her career by appearing in TV commercials for leading brands like Liril, Limca & Close-up. She was also appointed the brand ambassador for the Jewels of India that happens to be one of India’s leading yearly Jewelry Exhibition. That’s not all; she took over the international modeling scene when New York based major cosmetics company Maybelline signed her to be their new International covergirl face. She certainly as enjoying her time in the modeling industry and was not going to rush into Bollywood in a hurry though she had already become very popular. She then took part in the 5th yearly Kingfisher Fashion Awards, it is an award function to celebrate the best & biggest achievements during the calendar year for Indian models and designers, and there Deepika was awarded the title of Model of the Year. Shortly afterwards, she was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006, thus cementing her reputation as a supermodel. She also bagged two trophies at the Idea Zee Fashion Awards in 2006 - Female Model of the year & Fresh Face of the year. Deepika after all these major successes decided that the time was ripe to enter Bollywood in a big way; she made the correct decision at the right time. She knew that, now that she such successes she will be cast only in lead roles in the biggest banners and will get to act with the leading actor of Bollywood. It is not that she a fortune teller, but just because the kind of success she has had due to her hard work she would have to struggle to establish her credentials as a person of high repute. She made her acting debut in the Kannada film ‘Aishwarya’ that was released in the year 2006. Then came the big break that we all could have easily expected of her. She starred in her first Bollywood movie titled ‘Om Shanti Om’ that was directed and choreographed by Farah Khan and starred Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and Arjun Rampal. The movie turned out to be the biggest hit of 2007 and Deepika started her Bollywood career with a bang. Deepika and Shahrukh both play double roles in the movie. Shahrukh plays a struggling actor while Deepika is a leading actress in first part of the movie. Shahrukh likes her a lot but doesn’t know that she is secretly married to Arjun Rampal who is a big time financer of Bollywood movies. Arjun kills Deepika when she comes in the way of his big dreams and Shahrukh Khan witnesses this crime and dies too. On rebirth Shahrukh Khan happens to be a successful actor while Deepika is not one. Somehow the incidents transpire in a fashion which leads Shahrukh to remember all that happened in his last birth, then enters Arjun Rampal again and Shahrukh Khan wants revenge with time. Deepika is roped in and the plan is successful. The movie was a smash hit and loved by audiences all over the country. It has been confirmed recently that Deepika is dating Bollywood new comer Ranbir Kapoor off late.
