Bollywood Actress Esha Deol
Esha Deol was born on November 2nd, 1982 in Mumbai, India. Her father is the legendary Bollywood hunk Dharmendra and her mother is none other than Bollywood ‘dream girl’ Hema Malini. Her Bollywood pedigree doesn’t stop there, both her step brothers are Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Her sister Aahana too is rumored to be joining Bollywood. So who isn’t there in her family that has an active career in Bollywood? She has the best of both worlds in her; she has the grace and finesse of her mother and the acting talents of her father. She is not here in Bollywood just because of her family, she has other skills too that could have easily made up her career. Firstly, she is an accomplished classical dancer just like her mother. She could have easily toured along with her mother internationally for shows in Europe and America. Her primary education was done at the Jamnabai Narsee School, Juhu (Mumbai). She has a Bachelor Degree in Computer Technology from Oxford University and also a Masters Degree in Media Arts. Now tell me one thing that why after having such an accredited international education do these chaps get into the song and dance stereo type of Bollywood movies. In the past she also has been a National Level football player. Now if she had chosen any of the previous fields over Bollywood acting career then the millions of young boys and men would have felt heart broken. Well luckily she got into film and Bollywood had a new star in the making. Esha’s first Bollywood movie was ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe’, thought film did not fare well at the box office, but the performance was enough for her to get noticed. Film like Kya Dil Ne Kahaa, Na Tum Jano Na Hum, Kucch To Hai and a few others that were released post her debut film didn’t do her or the producers any good either. They were all mediocre films that just came and went, when they came and when they went would be something that she would like to forget today. Then in 2004 came the bold movie Yuva starring Bollywood biggies like Ajay Devgan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi. This Bollywood film had a dream multi star cast directed by Mani Ratnam. The movie showcased three young men with different strata’s of living standards and their different perspectives of life. The movie was superbly made and got critical acclaim from all corners, though Esha was not amongst the centrifugal high points of the movie but being a part of such a prestigious project gave impetus to her career and got her the desired results she might have been looking for to build her career. The very same year she played the role of a girl who is the bad company of bike robbers. The film was Dhoom and she starred opposite Uday Chopra along with Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and John Abraham. The movie was an action packed adventure from start to finish and was one of the biggest hits of that year and surely her biggest till date. This success proved that she was star material and could survive in the Bollywood jungle without the help of her famous family having to run pillar to post to get producers to sign her or her dad making to make movies to find her success. Thereafter it seemed as if she learnt the mantra to success quickly. Her next project was a Shahrukh Khan & Karan Johar jointly produced film – Kaal. This movie too was a hit and she was more than happy to prove people who said she couldn’t act or she was here just because she was another Bollywood star’s child. Then in 2005 she starred in the year’s biggest grosser ‘No Entry’ starring Anil Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Salman Khan amongst others. She had a full length role and the movie was an out and out comedy which the audiences loved a lot. Thereafter was Dus and she delivered another hit. Over the years Esha has reduced her weight considerably and this has made her one of the sexiest looking gals in Bollywood. Her mother has on a few occasions disapproved of the skimpy outfits but her fans just want more. Her music video in the film Cash was outstanding and had the whole country saying ‘Cash meri Aankhon me, cash meri…’
