Bollywood Actor Feroz Khan

Feroz Khan was born in Bangalore, India on September 25th 1939. His father Sadiq Ali Khan is a native of the Afghanistan province of Ghazni while is mother Fatima is of Persian descent. Feroz has three siblings namely, Bollywood actor-director Sanjay Khan, Akbar Khan & Sameer Khan. Once Feroz Khan got through with his studies he came to Bombay to become an actor.
On coming to Bombay he made his Bollywood debut in the 1960 movie 'Didi' where he played the 2nd lead actor. Thereafter in the succeeding 5 years Feroz Khan found his self in a situation here in he had no choice but to keep acting in movies where the played to the 2nd lead role despite his wish of being the lead actor. All through the early part of the 60's he was cast in low budget movies that had him in the 2nd lead role and producer though they liked his looks but since he did have the mass appeal of the Indian auidence they never took the risk of casting him in bigger and better roles. His looks and his acting abilities was him star in an English language movie named 'Tarzan Goes to India' that was released in the year 1962 and his co-star in the movie was the gorgeous Simi Garewal.
But success they say doesn't elude those who work hard, sooner or later success does come you're way. That success took 5 yrs to come Feroz Khan's way, in 1965 he tasted his first big box office success, the movie was 'Oonche Log'. Though it was a big time hit but he couldn't derive the mileage he needed to push his career up the rung. That very year he starred in the movie 'Arzoo', a love musical where Feroz star's as a lover who sacfrifices his love. This movie brought him success and also brought him his aim, he was now reciving offers to act in A-list movie but still as a 2nd lead only. In 1969 his movie 'Aadmi Aur Insaan' was released and he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role.
But these successes did not satisfy him, he had been in the Bollywood film industry for 10 odd years and yet he was not where he set out to be. He then decided to drive his destiny himself, he though of directing and producing Bollywood movies himself so that he can cast himself in lead roles. Of the primary success as a producer-director and actor came with the movie 'Dharmatma' that he released in 1975. This was the first time a Bollywood movie was shoot extensively in Afghanistan and after release it turned out to be his 1st super duper hit as director-producer and actor. The Hollywood blockbuster movie 'The Godfather was the inspiration for the making of the movie. In 1976 there was a multi starrer movie titled 'Nagin' that was released, this movie went on to become of the cult horror movies in Indian cinema, in the movie Feroz for the 1st time had a chance to work along side his brother Sanjay Khan.
With the advent of him directing-producing and acting in his movies, it brought him major successes. All through the 70's & 80's Feroz received all the success that one would have wanted. Not that he become the top most producer-director but still he was very highly rated. He is the director-producer of the super cult movie 'Qurbani'(starring Vinod
Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, and Amrish
Puri) that was released in 1980 and till date remains his biggest success. Apart from that he has made movies like Dayavan(Madhuri
Dixit and Vinod Khanna in lead roles), Janbaaz(starring Anil
Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia in lead roles and Rekha And Sridevi as guest appearance.) and Yalgaar(1992 Indian Hindi language film directed by and starring Feroz Khan alongside Sanjay
Dutt, Manisha Koirala and Kabir Bedi.) and all these movies were box office successes. There after he took a break from acting for eleven years, in between he directed his son Fardeen
Khan's debut movie 'Prem Aggan' which however failed to impress at the office box. His most recent appearnce in a Bollywood movie was in the movie 'Welcome' which was a super hit both in India and interenationaly.
