Bollywood movie Jodhaa Akbar
Jodhaa Akbar is a film that was released with great expectation on February 15, 2008. It is
directed and produced by the famous Ashutosh Gowariker the Academy Award nominee for the film
Lagaan in the year 2001. The movie stars the hot throbe Hrithik Roshan and the gorgeous Aishwarya
Rai. It also includes the introduction of a newcomer Abir Abrar. The making of this great
project began in Karjat. The story of the film rolls around the love between the Muslim Mughal
emperor Akbar (Hrithik Roshan) and his Hindi wife Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai). The music is composed
by the versatile genius music director A.R.Rahman. It was launched on January 19, 2008.
Storyline
Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century love story between the Muslim Mughal Emperor Akbar and the
Rajpat Princess Jodhaa. Akbar was aiming at only political success. His success knew no bounds.
He successfully conquered the Hindu Kush. And then he wanted to extend his empire from Afganistan
to Bay of Bengal and from the Himalayas to Godavari river. To strndthen the relationship with the
Rajpats Akbar married the elegant princess of Rajpat, Jodhaa. After then he was traveling in a
new journey of strengthening the love between him and Jodhaa. This was the journey of a powerful,
true love. The daughter of King Bharmal of Amer, Jodhaa was used as a mere pawn in strengthening
Akbars relationship with the Rajpats. Akbar did not find it difficult to conquer the empires. On
the other hand he found it damn difficult to win the love of Jodhaa that was hidden deep in her
heart. Precisely Jodhaa Akbar is an untold love story.

Production
Ashutosh Gowariker wanted his film to be historically also strong. Hence he called for a team of
historians from varios places like New Delhi, Agra, etc. There were about Over 80 elephants, 100
horses and 55 camels were used in the movie. A song in the film featured around thousand dancers
in traditional costumes which was shouted in the rich location of Karjat. The budget of the film
is estimated to be about 37 crores.
Direction
The director Ashutosh Gowariker accepted that 70 % of his film is based on his own imagination.
Certain historians argued that Jodhaa was married to Akbars son Jahangir. They also protested
against this issue and also acclaimed for apologize from Ashutosh Gowariker. Since this film was
not released in 30 theaters in Rajasthan. Ashutosh Gowariker acclaimed that he atmost tried to
follow according to the book. He also added that there was contradiction regarding the name of
the Rajpat princess.
Music
The music tracks are composed by the versatile musician A.R.Rahman. There are officially five songs
and two instrumentals. The music was released on January 18th 2008. the music launch was done on
January 9,2008. The tracks were recorded Panchathan Record Inn A.M. Studio Nirvana Studio. The
song Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah which was sung by Mohd. Aslam, Bonny Chakravarti & chorus. The next
track Jashn-E-Bahaara was sung by Javed Ali. A.R.Rahman, the vibrant singer has sung the song
Khwaja Mere. Thus the songs in the film are box office hits of the year.
