Bollywood Actor Jugal Hansraj
A small child galloping on wooden horse dreamt of making big in this industry way back in a song of his debut movie as a child. This is neither imagination nor a rhyme but a famous song from the debut movie of our hazel eyed actor Jugal Hansraj. Masoom(co-starring with Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Supriya Pathak and Saeed Jaffrey, as well as child actors Jugal Hansraj and Urmila Matondkar) released around 1984 was his debut movie as a child artiste and his performance combined with his impish looks became the highlight success of the movie in bollywood. but his career as a child artiste gave him brighter exposure with hits like Karma and Sultanat. Rather he was just too perfect to be ignored. He also did a couple of advertisements but Nautramul remains his best perhaps most memorable one. This forgotten persistent voice came back to bollywood after a span of around five to six years. The small innocent child had turned into six feet tall handsome man all set to blaze screen with his youth and energy. Can you call it destiny? His co star (another child artiste from his debut film) became his partner in his rebounding movie Aa Gale lag Ja was Urmila matondkar who was also on the similar path as him. The movie was not a big hit but it definitely launched him in the bollywood race. Born on 26th July, 1972 this Leo with cancer ascendant did few love stories at tender age of 20. Love, romance and naïve attraction were basic storyline of all such movies be it Papa kehte Hain or Aa Gale lag Ja(co-starring with Urmila Matondkar, Paresh Rawal, Ashok Saraf, Ranjeet, Reema Lagoo, Raza Murad and Gulshan Grover). Although papa kehte Hain could be claimed as his hits but more of the success credit goes to the music of the movie that stole many young hearts and could be heard on lips of youth and children. The hits or misses nothing linked him to any path in the industry. He got lost for a while only to make a great comeback in Mohabbatein(co-starring with Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra, Shammita Shetty, Jimmy Shergill, Kim Sharma and more) a yash raj production. His performance in this multistarrer with actress Kim sharma did gave him some recognition in the industry. But did he have that what it takes to knock at the top? His natural meteor as an actor could be well experienced in his debut performance as a child. Though not a learned from any institute or stage plays the actor has developed his performance with rising experiences. Is such a great talent now will only appear in guest appearances of hits like Salaam Namaste or Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.? People see what is being told by media or as actors are portrayed themselves. The real and authentic person behind the cuddly screen image is an introvert guy, who though appreciated several times for distinct roles has till date never approached directors for meaty roles. The actor has an honest and candid attitude as hero who has never stunted for publicity in media and truly enjoys what so ever comes his way. As the actor he accepted in an interview that directors were skeptical about approaching him for movies. Does his honesty and naïve approach hamper his career? Although knick knack chances have always been falling his way such as few serials on television or a movie like Pyar Tumhi Se kar Baithe (Rajshri banner).So one wonders where the work and chances are steering the actor’s path? Stardom or failure, jugal hansraj has drawn out of the bollywood actors race and shifted his interest into direction. Perhaps his childhood passion but this passion is sheltered with great banners like yashraj films and Walt Disney. His is working on his debut directorial Road side Romeo an animated film with lead voices given by Saif Ali khan and Kareena Kapoor. Is this the end of glamorous bollywood for our actor or one can expect to see him in more twinkling lights? Perhaps the only think lacking in his career graph is affairs with actresses and controversies. If one is not involved in controversies in bollywood it can be easily stated that he has not reached stardom yet. So we hope the actor’s efforts would soon bring a lucky twist in his career and we can see him reaching those heights as a director.
