Bollywood Movie Major Saab Major Saab is a Bollywood movie-starring superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Soanli Bendre, Nafisa Ali, and Aashish Vidyarthi & Mohan Joshi. Tinnu Anand has directed the movie. The movie was released on 26th June 1998 and happened to be the first success that Amitabh Bachchan tasted in Bollywood after his 4-5 lay off from acting. The acting of Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgan is what is the high point of the movie. The movie is set in an Army training camp (National Defense Academy). The movie starts with the showing of Virendra Pratap Singh (Ajay Devgan) belongs to a wealthy and prosperous family, yet careless lifestyle. But things change when his father passes. All the time Virendra Pratap Singh has been thinking that if ever his father passes away he will be the one to get all of his father’s riches and shall continue leading the same way as he has been leading all the time. But little does he know that his father has left behind a will wherein due to a stipulation in the will that he must join a military academy as per family traditions, and failure to do so may forfeit his claim to this inheritance. Virendra Pratap Singh cannot believe his eyes that he is in such a situation where his father is no more and to inherit his own belongings he will have to do the same. He reluctantly joins the National Defense Academy, expects to break every possible rule, and be discharged. He thinks if he is kicked out he can get into the loopholes of the will and have an easy claim on the will and property. Major Jasbir Singh Rana (Amitabh Bachchan) happens to be the head of the National Defense Academy and takes it upon him to see to that Virendra Pratap Singh will undergo complete training at the academy what may come. Virendra Pratap Singh too is a complete stubborn person and tries to run out of there on two occasions but is on both times unsuccessful. This creates an image of him being a miscreant but then he falls in love with a sweet and lovely girl named Nisha (Soanli Bendre) who happens to be the younger sister of a gangster named Shankar (Aashish Vidyarthi) but she is completely unaware of her brother’s activities. After he starts to like Nisha he decides that he will be now staying back at the National Defense Academy so that he can keep seeing her. Parshuram Bihari (Mohan Joshi) is an associate of Shankar. Parshuram Bihari’s son Vicky is another of the students at the National Defense Academy. But once Nisha openly declares her love for Virendra Pratap Singh and since Vicky was to be engaged to Nisha he filled with hatred for Virendra Pratap Singh. Once Virendra Pratap Singh starts putting true efforts in his training and grows closer to Major Jasbir Singh Rana, Vicky starts disliking him. Shankar puts up a plan with Parshuram Bihari to get rid off Virendra Pratap Singh. This happens after Shankar has accepted Virendra Pratap Singh & Nisha’s relation so that Nisha is not left hurt. Vicky makes things happen in a planned way where in very incident Virendra Pratap Singh is the prime suspect but Major Jasbir Singh Rana can feel that someone is trying to hurt Virendra. Neither Nisha nor Virendra know that Shankar has a devious plan that may leave Virendra gravely injured and possibly handicapped for the rest of his life. In the end all matters are solved Virendra Pratap Singh & Nisha are one and the gang of Shankar is brought to justice.
