The movie was Directed by Aditya Chopra STORY LINE OF THE Film: - Once during the night time three young and energetic men reach the train station. They introduced themselves as Sameer, Vikram and Karan. They get to know each other and begin a friendship among themselves. They were to join one of the well known institution in India called 'Gurukul' for studies. The 'Gurukul' was under the control of the head master called Narayan Shankar(Amitabh Bachchan) who was a strict man with respect to his virtues and disciplines. He believed that the institution gained fame throughout India only because of his principles and motivations. Students from all over India who belong to different universities were invited to join 'Gurukul' but they were expected to maintain discipline along with anti-romance policy which was strictly adhered in 'Gurukul'. If any student was found flirting or engaged with one another romantically he/she will be expelled shortly from the institution. The three young men fall in love with girls. Sameer loves his childhood friend called Sanjana who already has a boy friend. Vikram falls in love with Ishika who was caught by Vikram while stealing apples in the Gurukul garden. Karan meets Kiran accidently when he was waiting for the train in a hill station. The tragedy about Kiran was that she had her husband who never returned from war but she still waits for him. But all of them stop their love at that step for the fear of their head master. Now enter Raj Aryan into the scene with his violin and flowers in his hand. He wanted to teach music in 'Gurukul'. He inspired the three students to continue their romance life with the girls and preached the rythm of love through his music. Raj explains the three students that he loved a girl called Megha who was dead but he still continues to love her. The three students continue their love life and Raj brings about many changes in 'Gurukul' and thus the relationship between Raj and Narayan breaks. Raj encouraged flirting and partying among girls and boys. Later the matter comes to lime light that Raj was also a student of 'Gurukul' who was in love with Narayan's daughter. When he came to know about their affair he expelled Raj out from 'Gurukul'. This made her to commit suicide by falling out from the window. This made Raj to spread the message of love throughout 'Gurukul' and then goto Narayan to show the power of love and affection. Narayan finds out the news that Raj was the boy who loved his daughter and puts him out from the institution. Raj is made to fail in his plans to change the rules at 'Gurukul'. But he continues to support the three students in breaking the rules to continue their love. There begins a war between Raj and Narayan. At last after so many incidents Narayan realises that love and care are far most important than rules and regulations. AWARDS AND LAURELS: - Sansui Viewer Choice Movie Awards for the 'Best Actor' was bagged by Shahrukh Khan Filmfare Critics Award for 'Best performance' was given to Shahrukh Khan IIFA Awards for the 'Best Story' was bagged by Aditya Chopra Filmfare Best 'Supporting Actor' Award was given to Amitabh Bachchan Screen Award for 'Best Lyrics' was got by Anand Bakshi IIFA Awards for the 'Best Costume Design' was given to Karan Johar. Truely a class movie with talented acting by Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan.
