One of the top and the greatest movies of the year 2007 was 'Om Shanti om' with nearly thirty five stars of bollywood who appeared in the movie including thirty one of them in a single song.

Story:

Om Prakash Makhija(actor Shahrukh Khan) and Pappu(Shreyas Talpade) are the junior artists of the 1970's film industry. Both are friends and they are trying to become great stars in the film industry. Bela Makhija who is Om's mother is the source of inspiration to him. Om had a love affair with the girl Shantipriya who is a star of film industry.

Om meets shanthi on several occassions and they become friends. Once Om heard Shanti talking to a producer Mukesh Mehra and to his shock he comes to know that Shanti is married to Mukesh and that she is pregnant too. But this is not known to the world and Mukesh refuses to accept her because he is going to marry the daughter of the businessman who is going to finance his next movie. Hearing all these Om starts to ignore Shanti.

One night Om notices that Shanthi and Mukesh get into a set. He heard Mukesh saying that he will marry her now. But as unexpected she was tied up and the set was on fire. Mukesh left the place leaving Shanti in the middle to be burnt. Om tries to save her but in vain. He gets trapped by Mukesh's men and they beat him. Om dies at the operation theatre though Rajesh Kapoor tries to save him.

30 years after this incident, Om incarnates as Om kapoor son of Rajesh Kapoor and becomes a popular star in the film industry. He has arsonphobia that is fear of fire. This was due to his last life incident. Then he meets Mukesh who has been the famous producer for the last 25 years in hollywood. He remembers his past life and becomes reunited with Bela and Pappu.

To take revenge on Shanti's death Om asks Mukesh to be the producer of the film Om Shanti Om where the rebuilt 'Om Shanti Om' set was put. The role of Shanthi was played by Sandy or Sandhya. Mukesh believes that it was the ghost of Shanti. But soon comes to know the truth. But there were many incidents which was unknown by Om himself. It was said to Mukesh by Sandy. The ghost of Shanti then kills Mukesh by making a chandlier fall on him. Then ghost of Shanthi tearfully bids Om bye.
