Bollywood Actor Paresh Rawal

Paresh Rawal descended on earth on May 30th 1950. He is married to former Miss India winner Swaroop Sampat and they have two daugthers for company.
Paresh studied at the RBT Parikh School in Mumbai and later completed his studies with a Bachelor’s degree in commerce from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics (NMIMS), Vile Parle, in Mumbai. He used to take part in school plays but that was entirely because of his being a mischievous child. Teachers had to find a way to keep him away from playing pranks and wasting time. Later on it was in the college period that he took some interest in theater. Paresh has been a part of Gujarati stage plays for nearly 30 years now. On the advise of his principal did he venture in acting.
Paresh Rawal’s Bollywood debut film was Arjun made by Ketan Mehta. Since then he has acted in numerous Bollywood movies and played all roles that came by his way. He has played the bad man’s role many and times and also comic roles which today seem to come naturally to him. Such diversity in acting has landed him both the Filmfare awards for Best Comic Role and Best Villain. Not only that he is a recipient of the prestigious National Award for his roles in Tammanna and Sadar, which is presented to actor for his stellar performance by the President of India. Also public will never forget his role played in the 1995 film 'Raja' co-starring with Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt.
His other notable performances are as follow – one of his performances that I personally can never forget and like to see over and over again is the role of ‘Teza’ in the comedy movie Andaz Apna Apna where he played a double role. His acting so hilarious that anyone having a slightly off color mood will be happy after seeing it. Of the more critically acclaimed roles is of course that of in Tammanna, where he plays the role of a 3rd sex person. He is neither a man nor a woman and takes in on himself to raise an infant little girl. He has to constantly bare the ire of his same community and the real world is as always harsh on him. It was a stellar performance and could also be considered as one of the defining moments of his illustrious career. He also did well in the movie 'Krantiveer' to support Nana Patekar .
Of late though he has been involved in many lighthearted roles that have completely transformed his image in Bollywood. One of those that could be highlighted here is that of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, as the name itself suggests it’s a damn funny character that he played. In the Bollywood movie called Hera Pehri, he is a lost like man and gives two bachelors space to live in his old house. Thereafter the fun starts, one of the tenents played by actor Akshay Kumar wants to make quick money and the other tenent played by Sunil Shetty is desperately seeking a job. Paresh get tangled up with the two and it’s hillarious all the way. Paresh along with Akshay and Sunil returned in 2006 for the second installment of the movie titled Phir Hera Pheri and the result was another smash hit and an even more hillarious movie. He also played major role along with Amitabh Bachchan And Govinda in hit movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
We can all talk endlessly about his versitile acting but we should remember that only a few like him can be so good at their job. Ask any of the superstars of today in Bollywood and most would shy away at even attempting to play one of his roles. He is an actor of very high caliber. More the difficulty of the role more he will enjoy portraying it. He is today at the prime of his career, sometimes when you think you could end up comparing him with only a few select actor in Bollywood genre.
