Bollywood Actor Rishi Kapoor
Rishi Kapoor was born in the year 1952 on September 4th in Mumbai. He is a well known Bollywood actor and has several hit films in row which made him popular. He comes from the biggest family of the Indian film industry, the Kapoor Family. He is the second son of the greatest actor, producer and director Raj Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor and his brothers are well known for acting in the same field and each of them were popular during their times as great heroes. Rajiv Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor are two of his brothers who are quite popular in the film industry. Rishi Kapoor is known as Chintu and his height is 5 feet and 7 inches which is just the requirement for a perfect actor. Rishi Kapoor is also the paternal uncle of the greatest heroines of today Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. In the year 1980, Rishi Kapoor married the great actress Neetu Singh with whom he had several hits. Rishi has two children, Ranbir Kapoor who is now into films and Ridhima Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor was first in the movie Sawariya which did not take off much as expected even though the songs were a big hit elsewhere. He is now seen in T.V commercials, one among them being the Pepsi ad along with Shahrukh Khan. He is known to be a budding star and will be having wonderful days in Bollywood with time! Rishi Kapoor was first introduced by his father in the movie Mera Naam Joker in the year 1970. He played the role of his father as child. The first leading role in as film was opposite Dimple Kapadia in the movie Bobby which became a real big hit in the year 1973. Even now there are many of them listening to the music of the movie and one among the most famous is “Hum Tum Ek Kamre Mein Bandh Ho” and this song was pretty popular among the youngsters. With his first venture to be a mere success, the following ones brought him fame and luck. With this he got the chance to appear in thousands of movies and is also acting as a supporting actor in plenty of movies. He has been into playing the best roles romancing young ladies till the year 2000 and it was very lately he started out acting as a supporting actor in some of the great films. He did Hum Tum in the year 2004 which was considered to be a big hit. Another film is Fanaa in the year 2006 where he played the role of a father and his acting was considered to be remarkable by the audience. He was also into direction of the films where the first venture was Aa Ab Laut Chalein the year 1999. This was not a hit and was considered to be just average in the Box Office. Lately, he was seen in the movie Namaste London and Don’t Stop Dreaming directed by Shammi Kapoor’s son. The films did well as the second one was an English speaking movie and his role was being applauded by people across. Rishi has also bagged some of the greatest awards and these are the wonderful assets possessed by him. In 1970, he received the BFJA Special Award for his first film Mera Naam Joker. He acted in the movie as a child artist and he received the National Film Award for Best Child Artist in the year 1971 for his remarkable performance in the movie. Another milestone of Rishi was the movie Bobby for which he received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in the year 1973. Even after his retirement as an actor he got the Zee Cine Award for Lifetime Achievement in the year 2006. He was also nominated under the MTV Maha Style Icon category which he won at the MTV Lycra Awards in the year 2007 as the Icon of 2006. He has the played almost every kind of role from a child artist to a hero, to a father, brother, son, uncle, doctor and lot more. Each role played by him differs from the previous ones. Some of his greatest hits include Mera Naam Joker, Bobby, Zinda Dil, Raja, Rafoo Chakkar, Khel Khel Mein, Rangila Ratan, Laila Najnu, Ginny Aur Johny, Barood, Kabhi Kabhi, Doosra Aadmi, Amar Akbar Anthony, Anjane Mein, Sargam, Do Premee, Karz, Chandni, Fanaa and lot more. He is also some great ventures on the stands which are still to be released.
