Bollywood Actor Ritesh Deshmukh

Ritesh Deshmukh was born on 17th December 1978 in Latur, Maharashtra, India. His father, Mr. Deshmukh is currently the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Ritesh Deshmukh did his high schooling from G.D. Somani High School and thereafter Ritesh did his graduation from the Kamala Raheja School of Architecture located in Mumbai too. Once he had completed his gradution he wanted to become an actor, for this he went to New York where he worked as well as took out time to join the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute to learn the fine art of acting.
He made his Bollywood debut in the movie ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ that was released in the year 2003. The movie met with average success but surely Ritesh was a man hungry for more success. The very next year in 2004 he acted in the movie ‘Masti’, the movie was directed by Indra Kumar and had a multi-star cast with the likes of Vivek Oberoi, Ajay Devgan, Aftab Shivdasani, Tara Sharma and Amrita Rao. The story of the movie has three friends who meet after a long time since their respective marriages and what transpires is a complete riot. The film was much apperciated by the auidences and was tagged a commercial success. Thereafter Ritesh has appeared in quite a few movies, some of them have met with success giving the actor many reasons to cheer while some of them haven’t succeeded in posting box office gains.
In 2004 itself he acted in movies like ‘Bardaasht’ and ‘Naach’. Naach despite having a star cast of the likes of Abhishek Bachchan and Antara Mali the film bombed at the box office. But with the dawn of 2005, Ritesh again tasted success in the form of ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’, starring Tusshar Kapoor, Isha Koppikar and Neha Dhupia. The was produced by Tusshar Kapoor’s sister Ekta Kapoor. The film turned out to be an unexpected hit of the year and was among the top grosser for the year. This turned out be Ritesh’s first major hit of his fleding career. Antoher super hit of his career came in the form of the Abhishek Bachchan & Priyanka Chopra starrer – Bluffmaster. Aditya Srivastav alias Dittu (Ritesh) plays the role of a person who is a friend of Simmi (Priyanka Chopra) who is trying to get Roy (Abhishek Bachchan) to leave his profession as bluffmaster. The movie was directed by Rohan Sippy and all character including that played by Nana Patekar was tremendous and the movie was outstanding.
Ritesh Deshmukh has acted in a slue of Bollywood movies over the years from the afore mentioned titles like Masti and Bluffmaster to Malamaal Weekly, Darna Zaroori Hai, Apna Sapna Money Money, Namastey London, Cash, Heyy Babyy and Dhamaal are some of the Bollywood movies that come to mind instantly. It is more that apparent that his kind of movies and role played by him are mostly of comic nature but to grow as an actor and to cement his place in filmdom he will have to increase his areas of expertise.
In between his hectic shedule of shooting for his films Ritesh Deshmukh does find time to work on project designing structures. Recently he has been involved in as many as 3 projects, he has designed one education complex that will house an education center for excellence in Mumbai and two multiplexes, one of them being in his home town of Latur.
His career till date can be sumed up by terming it as a moderately success one and he certainly has a long way to go before he can be called a versatile actor but surely he has his own fans base who love watching his comic genre Bollywood movies.
