Bollywood Actor Shahid Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor was born on February 25th, 1981 in Mumbai, India. Shahid's father is the noted & versatile Bollywood actor Pankaj Kapoor while his mother's name is Neelima Azeem, she is also an actor. His parents divorced when he was barely 3 years old. After the divorce of his parents Shahid stayed mostly with his mother. Shahid is a complete vegetarian. He studied at the Gyan Bharati in the initial phase of his career and later he studied at the Rajhans Vidhyalaya at Mumbai. Shahid started his career by appearing TV commercials and music videos. Shahid as a matter of fact is trained dancer and studied under master dancer and Bollywood's favorite male chorographer Shiamak Davar. One of his famous TV commercials was with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan & Kajol after their movie 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' became a smash hit. Thereafter he made an appearance in the Subhash Ghai movie 'Taal' Starring Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai and also Alok Nath. He worked in the movie as background dancer in the song starring Aishwarya Rai named 'Kahiin Aag Lage Lag Jawe'. The movie was a super hit. Shahid made his Bollywood debut in the movie Ishq Vishk that was released in 2003. This movie was moderately successful and launched his career and Bollywood had a new budding actor with a lot of potential. For his performance as a cute affable lover boy he won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. In the next four years Shahid would go on to do many Bollywood movies, most of them were not too successful but a few hits that he has started to have recently have raised the expectation of this wonderful actor and even better dancer to a new level. The next year in 2004, he had two more releases, one being Fida, a romantic thriller co-starring Fardeen Khan & Kareena Kapoor, and the other being Dil Maange More, this too was a romantic movie with a comeic side to it. His co-actors in this movie were Tulip Joshi. Soha Ali Khan & Ayesha Takia. For Fida he received rave reviwes, his acting was well received though the movie didn't fare nicely at the box office while the other movie 'Dil Maange More' was a complete no show. Then in 2005 Shahid had as many as 3 movie releases but unfortunately all the three Bollywood movies Deewane Huye Pagal, Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi & Shikhar weren't even able to recover their cost at the box office and for Shahid it meant 3 successive failures. The only consolation to come for him was that he got a Star Screen Best Actor Award nomination for his role in Shikhar. Shikhar's star cast included versatile Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan, but today's auidences are pretty smart, they do not go to watch a movie because of it's star power but only if the movie has the right content. With the advent of 2006 things started to look a litte more brighter for Shahid. He tasted his first success since the release of his debut movie. 36 China Town was a wholesome Bollywood movie package, it had every ingredient of a successful movie - romance, drama, comedy, murder and good songs as well. His co-stars in this movie were Akshaye Khanna, Kareena Kapoor and Upen Patel. The movie was an average success and finally Shahid has something to cheer. In the same year Shahid had another release titled 'Chup Chup Ke' again starring Kareena Kapoor. The movie was an out and out comedy directed by Bollywood's comedy king Priadarshan. The film has Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in their third film together along with actors, Neha Dhupia, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Shakti Kapoor, Om Puri and Anupam Kher. This movie like his previous movie too was a moderate success and Shihad began to find his feet in the sticky sand of Bollywood film making where success is a must to survive as there are millions riding on your back. Then he rocked like a superstar to major hits one being Vivah directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya which released at the end of 2006 and was the year's biggest commercial success. In 2007 he acted in the movie "Fool n Final" directed by choreographer Ahmed Khan has an all-star cast including Sunny Deol, Ayesha Takia, Vivek Oberoi, Sameera Reddy, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Arbaaz Khan, Om Puri, Asrani, Gulshan Grover and many more. It was released on June 1, 2007. Most of the film was shot in Brazil, Dubai and Muscat In 2007 he tasted his biggest success of his career when "Jab We Met" was released. His acting, the script and even Kareena's acting was so good that he got nominated for various awards and Kareena won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. His dancing in the movie was the best in recent times by any actor.
