Bollywood Actress Sonali Bendre
Sonali Bendre was born on January 1st 1975. Her birthplace is Mumbai and she is a Maharashtrian. Sonali has studied in Bangalore as well as in Mumbai. While in Bangalore she studied at the Kenderi Vidyalaya and when she came back to study in Mumbai she was enrolled into Holly Cross Convent High School located in Thane. Like many actresses of her time, before she stepped into Bollywood she was a model. She got her break when the ‘Stardust Talent Search’ selected her. Sonali had a great figure and her waist and bust were a perfect 10 for a model. She was as thin as a pencil. Sonali made her Bollywood debut in the movie ‘Aag’ opposite Govinda. The initial phase of her career was a complete struggle time, though movies kept coming her ways their scripts were never good enough to make an impact on the box office and therefore though her fans would go to watch her movies they would come home mostly disappointed. What was best about her that her acting was natural and effortless, there was never a sign that she wasn’t enjoying smiling or dancing in front of the cameras. Her smile was addictive in the sense that you could watch the entire movie just to see her smile. Her body postures and great looks could put to shame even more successful actresses. For obvious reasons men would like to take her out for a date but even the women would really like her because they would like to know the reasons behind her superbly agile body figure. But when she started being more selective with her roles from that very time she also started doing justice to her acting abilities. She proved that she was not just a sweetheart that would be happy holding a candy and waving cheerfully in every movie. One of the most light hearted performances of her Bollywood career was in the movie ‘Sarfarosh’ starring Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, her chirpiness and her youthfulness was the most attractive points of her acting in this movie. She is the sister of a rag to riches businessman who falls in love with a school time friend after they meet few years later. Her boyfriend is Aamir Khan, a special crime branch police officer trying to nail a cross border weapons smuggling gang. All through the movie and in every scene she is laughing, asking questions of him even when he is hospitalized. All this makes for interesting viewing and she has depicted the role of a chirpy girl as if that’s how she lives her own life. The movie was super hit and her career’s first super hit. She also acted in 1999 movie Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United co-starring with Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Mohnish Behl and Tabu Thereafter she kept doing good roles and it didn’t seem to matter to her whether or not they found success at the box office on their Friday release or not. After ‘Sarfarosh’ came ‘Zakhm’ and also ‘Dulicate’ along side Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan in another fun filled masala movie. Shahrukh Khan plays a double role and Sonali plays his love interest with one of those characters. But in between there were forgetful movies like ‘English Babu Desi Mem’, movies likes these never had a proper script and therefore the end result would always be – box office failure. Her performance in movies like ‘Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai’ where her co-stars where international beauty Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor and comic movie ‘Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega’ kept increasing her popularity. When she was doing so many good movies she put a halt to her career to get married to Bollywood director-producer Goldie Behl on 12th November 2002. On August 9th, 2005 she gave birth to her son, Ranvir. But her career is set to take off all over again and Sonali is soon to star in a theater play called – Aap Ki Soniya.
